Servings 2-4. Prep time: 5-10 minutes. Cooking time: 15-20 minutes.


Required Ingredients. 

  • 2 yellow plantains
  • 1 teaspoon of water or 2 cups of oil. 

Optional Ingredients.

  • Salt or sugar to taste
  • 2 cups of peanut or olive oil.

Directions.

Step I.

  1. Prepare the frypan or a large pot
  2. Wash, dry, and peel the plantains
  3. Cut the plantain into small pieces and set them aside.

Step II.

  1. Add salt or sugar
  2. Add any spices you prefer, and toss for 5 seconds.

Step III.

  1. Add two cups of oil and heat for 5-10 seconds 
  2. Add 8-10 pieces plantain, and fry  for 1-2 minutes
  3. Lower the heat, flip over, and fry for about a minute.
  4.  Repeat the process.


Vegans.

  1. Add a teaspoon of water and heat for 10 seconds.
  2. Follow the same directions. 


Serve with soda or water.
